Tottori Resource Recycling has welcomed an intern, Mr. Muntaser Almansoori (Master Student of Materials Science), from Masdar Institute of Science and Technology (“MIST”) from July to August 2017 under the framework of the cooperation between Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE) and MIST.
MIST has published a press release on their website regarding this internship activity.
Middle East countries, including Abu Dhabi, have the issues of persistent water shortage and low food self-sufficiency. Mr. Almansoori has applied to our company with the motivation to explore the manufacturing and processing of Porous Alpha, physical characteristics of the material and the possibility to apply the material as the solution for water treatment and soil improvement in Abu Dhabi and its impact.
His internship activity with our company lasted five weeks in collaboration with Arid Land Research Center of Tottori University and Tottori Institute of Industrial Technology. He was engaged with the training on manufacturing process, followed by conducting physical analysis of Porous Alpha, and research on various applications of Porous Alpha and their market potential in Abu Dhabi.
We continue to provide our knowledge for the regions faced with water shortage, including Middle East, and to collaborate with universities and institutes in such regions.
